2008 Miss Asia Pageant has been hold since 1985 and this is the 20th anniversary of the pageant. The Slogan is "Asian Beauties, Radiate Our Planet" this year and the theme of the pageant is to express love, concern, and environmental protection to the world. The pageant will be divided into three parts :
1. Mainland China

There will be eight contest zones in Mainland China namely northeast, eastern part, northern part, southern part, central part, southwest, northwest, and Si chuan. 36 contestants will be selected from those areas. |

The final will be on October 26, 2008 in Tian Jin. English contestants including the winner. 1st runner-up, 2nd runner-up and other top five contestants will be selected to join the grand final in Hong Kong. |

Beijing Zhong Shi Tai He Movie Culture Media Co. Ltd is the co-organizer of the pageant in Mainland China. The company is responsible for the whole recruitment and contest events in Mainland China. China Tian Jin Television will be the producer of the grand final of Mainland China while QQ.com is the authorized media for the internet recruitment and voting activities. |
2. Hong Kong

The recruitment period is from August 17, 2008 to September 17, 2008. The sourcing areas include Los Angeles, Toronto and Hong Kong. |

Thirteen contestants will be selected in the early of October 2008. They will go through a series of trial and have to undergo a further examination in a closed camp. Six contestants representing Hong Kong will be finalized on October 30, 2008. |
3. The Asian Countries

Representatives from different Asian countries such as Japan, Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, Turkmenistan,are recommended from different beauty pageant organizations, model agencies. |

Six best representatives will be chosen for the grand final. They will come to Hong Kong on November 1, 2008 to join the contestants from Mainland China, Hong Kong. |
There will be twenty finalists including Asian Countries (6 contestants), Mainland China (8 contestants). Hong Kong (6 contestants). They will gather in Hong Kong on or before November 1, 2008 for the training, promotion, location shooting and public relation activities. The grand final of 2008 Miss Asia Pageant will be held on December 7, 2008 in studio 8 of Asia Television Limited. The winner, 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up of the pageant will be selected by public voting through mobile phone, internet msn while the other titles will be selected by the judges. The past title winners and judges of Miss Asia Pageant will be invited to attend the event.
